A browser can't receive real 530–1700 kHz carriers, so the stations are synthesized. The tuning itself is computed: sliding the rod raises the coil's inductance (24 to 247 µH), the tuned circuit resonates at f = 1 / (2π√LC) with a fixed 365 pF, and each station's volume follows that resonance curve. Selectivity is the circuit's Q. Whistle is the beat note you hear as you approach a carrier. Sweep tone maps the dial position to pitch.
